It’s not OK

It’s time we dig ourselves out of this rut!!!

It’s not ok to accept unhappiness and defeat. It’s not ok to wake up without purpose, motivation, and something to look forward too. It’s just not ok. In the middle of the storm, it can be so hard to see that the sun is shining somewhere else. We invest so much into our careers, school, friends, and relationships that the thought of change is paralyzing. The thought of all you have invested not being there is a chilling one. But in our hearts, we know that not making a change isn’t how we want to live the rest of our lives. Personally, I have so many dreams, goals, and ambitions that have never been achieved. Far too often I wake up and forget that I have a choice just as you do. We can get busy living in the rut we created or we can get busy digging our way out.

What about all the things you’ve built or achieved in your current endeavors? You may not be happy but you can’t just throw in the towel, can you? There may be a few ways to look at this. Are you really losing anything? All that experience will still be with you no matter what you do. Memories don’t disappear just because you move on. You may not have a corner office but you also may not wake up dreading your day either. No matter what we choose to do there will be challenges and I’m not talking about giving up when it gets hard. That might be the best time to double down but when you look in the mirror we both know that being challenged and being unhappy is not the same.

If you are at the point where you know there only one direction for you to go make damn sure you take it. Don’t accept the pain, misery or sadness of settling. We only get one chance on this planet and every day you don’t at least push toward your dream is a day lost. Whether you are 15, 45 or 75 you still have days that are precious in the tank. Let’s not let them go to waste.

start swing away at that which hold you back. Stop settling

You are a fighter. You have the scars to prove it. Some people have suffered through things because they were too afraid or weak to take a stand. You have proven before that you are not one of those people.
Yet here we are. Sitting here while you cower on the sideline. You’re afraid of something. The silence is deafening. You ignore it or you change the subject. You certainly don’t talk about it. You aren’t happy and you can feel it. Others can see it.Indecision-Quote-300x168
You are holding your self back. Your fear of change is just going to keep you and those around you from moving forward. Maybe you feel loyal or you don’t want to hurt anyone. That isn’t a bad thing but it’s also not helping anyone. It doesn’t get easier. leaving a job, lover or friend behind isn’t always easy but sometimes it’s certainly necessary.
The buildup of resentment will lead to rough waters and if you think that will be fun or easy than I have a bridge to sell you. Decisiveness is needed in times like this. Times when most people waffle back and forth with inaction you will be better by your actions.
Things are just things and you can always get more. Stuff comes and goes like anything else. Those who have your back don’t care about your choice as long as it’s best for you. They don’t know your situation and they don’t have to walk in your shoes. Only you know what you need to do. So do it already.

Oh times they are a changing

With enough time everything changes

Death and taxes are part of the expression but I think the better example is change. You can try to hold on or you can be patient and wait for it to happen. Your hearts wanting one way or the other will play no part in the fate that is inevitable. That twist of fate is change itself. Put in the work and you’ll get up out of the gutter (if you are unlucky enough to have found yourself there). Maybe not today but you will change your standing one way or the other. If not you’ll possibly just wind up somewhere worse. The same can be said about the fairy tail. Think you have it all? Ha, it’s all a matter of time. Life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes the trick is knowing when to cash in your chips and check out of the hotel. Other times it the change you are looking for is just around the corner waiting for you to double down or go all in.

Regardless of what the specific situation is the one constant is that nothing is without change. For better or worse you are tied to its cruel unpredictability. Maybe the key to dealing with it stops, take a deep breath and think of it as a just a new opportunity to get better at whatever it is you need to be better at. Maybe just at being a better person.

So if you are currently holding a hand that is less than ideal just wait because you’ll get dealt a new one soon enough. Make the most of it when the time comes.
