Death and taxes are part of the expression but I think the better example is change. You can try to hold on or you can be patient and wait for it to happen. Your hearts wanting one way or the other will play no part in the fate that is inevitable. That twist of fate is change itself. Put in the work and you’ll get up out of the gutter (if you are unlucky enough to have found yourself there). Maybe not today but you will change your standing one way or the other. If not you’ll possibly just wind up somewhere worse. The same can be said about the fairy tail. Think you have it all? Ha, it’s all a matter of time. Life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes the trick is knowing when to cash in your chips and check out of the hotel. Other times it the change you are looking for is just around the corner waiting for you to double down or go all in.

Regardless of what the specific situation is the one constant is that nothing is without change. For better or worse you are tied to its cruel unpredictability. Maybe the key to dealing with it stops, take a deep breath and think of it as a just a new opportunity to get better at whatever it is you need to be better at. Maybe just at being a better person.
So if you are currently holding a hand that is less than ideal just wait because you’ll get dealt a new one soon enough. Make the most of it when the time comes.
